AVL ONLINE

  • AVL support (Automatic Vehicle Location) is the name we use for the tracking system for vehicles, boats and mobile assets such as trailers, containers, and equipment, establishing its coordinates in one or more computers and showing them on vector maps. It is also possible to interact with the units in different ways.
  • In the AVL world all vehicles in a fleet must have a system (GPS Vehicular Unit) that can report its position to the HP Base Station through the cell phone communications network.
  • With the HunterPro Base Station you can monitor a virtually unlimited number of vehicles, that way the number of customers can be increased without any trouble using our solution (faster PC’s may be needed for bigger fleets).

AVL On Line

The four AVL components:

  1. GPS Satellites
    • There are many GPS satellites orbiting the world, conveying, positioning and controlling information, and timing, day and night in every weather condition. To learn more about how to operate a GPS system, please see the GPS Info page.
  2. GPS Mobile Unit
    • Currently more vehicles incorporate GPS devices that use satellite tracking, but the data can only be seen locally making this a very limited solution
    • A normal AVL system should be able to:

      -Receive GPS satellite signals
-Calculate position, speed, direction and altitude.
-Communicate with the base station utilizing different cell phone technologies.
-Decide when and how to report data.
-Keep historical records, data tracking and location.
    • With HunterPro-GPS you can actually do much more than that. Click here find about its features.
    • Please refer to the GPS info page to view more information about how the GPS system works.
  3. Communications Network
    • HunterPro-GPS has a built in safe cellular transceiver, which offers accurate and low cost communication via the cell phone network, so the vehicle can transmit its position and other information to the base station without errors. The communication travels in both directions allowing the base station to check the state of its vehicles and if necessary, send new instructions such as remote commands.
  4. AVL Maps
    • One of the most outstanding features of AVL is that it can use the base station software and the web server to automatically display the location of the vehicles on a geographical map (vector maps as well as Google Map). The map can be amplified or reduced to achieve almost any level of detail, and
    • More information available on Map Examples and information.
    • Although the geographical representation (maps) is helpful in most AVL applications, it is not always necessary. For example, for 911 emergencies, an AVL system shares the position of the vehicle with a Computer Dispatch system (CAD), which automatically identifies the nearest emergency units. In this particular application the dispatcher does not require a map.

HUNTERPRO AVL

HunterPro provides you a full solution.

The system consists of two software, one of them is the Professional HP-GPS and the other is the HP-WEB.

The HP-GPS Professional takes care of the communication with the units, the user management, allocation of the vehicles to them, tracking features, alarms and commands in real time. The system also allows you to generate and keep records with information about everything that happened to the vehicles (trace, events, etc.).

The HP-WEB is the server from which you can give access your clients (via username and a password provided by you) so that they can see their vehicles and interact with them via any PC with an internet connection. The installation is very simple and by installing the software you will have your own web server and will not need to worry about managing hosting services. All you need is to have the web server installed on a PC with internet access, considering the specifications that we will recommend depending on the size of your project.
